As much as possible, avoid

* Names that sound like government agencies

* Names that are too similar to existing NGOs

STEP 2: NEWSPAPER PUBLICATION

This is where many people get confused.

You must publish a notice in two national newspapers stating your intention to register the NGO.

This allows the public to raise objections if any.

Then you wait for atleast 28 days from the day of your publication, before moving on to the next step

In addition to your Newspaper, This next step will require that you get the following documents ready. You’ll need Trustee declaration details and a well prepared Minutes of meeting where trustees were appointed

Ideally, you should get these documents ready only after your newspaper publication is out, and the 28 days circulation is fufilled

STEP 3: FILL THE CAC FORMS ONLINE

After publication is out and your other documents are ready:

* Log into the CAC portal

* Fill the Incorporated Trustee form

* Upload all required documents
